Kiira Keski-Hakuni, also known as Kipsonite - a nickname from her childhood.

Kiira is an interdisciplinary designer based in Helsinki. She combines her knowledge both in Visual Communication Design and in Business into a practice that values a well-planned and followed research-based process and modern craftsmanship.

She is working currently as a freelancer and a graphic designer at Pentagon Design.

Kiira is inspired by kind confidence, change, and imagination. These can be seen in her work by appreciating equal teamwork, accessibility, trust in unconventional ideas, and trying out new materials or techniques.

    AALTO UNIVERSITY

    Co-Designer / June 2019 – October 2020

    As part of Aalto University’s 10th-anniversary celebrations, I and other VCD MA student Sanni Wessman collaborated with a Spanish winery in the design of their 20th-anniversary wine package.

    On the occasion of its anniversary, the Aalto Winery launched a special edition wine consisting of 450 unique bottles. This three-litre edition draws on wine from a selection of six 225-litre barrels from different vintages.

    FINLANDIA GROUP

    Art Director / September 2012 – March 2016

    Responsible for both developing and implementing the Visual Identity for Finlandia Group Ltd, which is a Finnish asset management company offering diverse financial services to both retail and institutional customers in Finland.

    Main field of work consists from:

    – Composing the Brand Identity style guide for the whole company during year 2013

    – Creating the visual tone for unique and compelling marketing and communication material

    – External communications, such as direct marketing

    – Coordinating with press- & printing houses

    – Designing the appearance of sponsoring events, e.g. fair stands

    In addition, it includes also:

    – The layout of office documents and stationary

    L’ORÉAL FINLAND

    Maketing Intern / February 2012 – August 2012

    Working as a Marketing Intern for L’Oréal Luxe Division and for its 11 Brands; Lancome, Biotherm, Diesel, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Cacharel, Viktor&Rolf, Maison Martin Margiela, Helena Rubinstein, Yves Saint Laurent and Kiehl’s.

    Main responsibilities included:

    – Communication with press & printing houses

    – Editing advertising visuals in Photoshop for magazines

    – Helping with setting up a new store for Kiehl’s

    – Marketing text translations

    – Product file updates for e-commerce

    – Varying marketing related tasks, such as price comparison and other analysis

    – Planning and carrying out store material eg. printed visuals to the point of sale & brochures and lightboxes

    The purpose of the programme is to situate visual communication design within societal, cultural, political and environmental frameworks.
